Oil Extraction in the Niger Delta
Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer. Nearly all of the country's resources and reserves are concentrated in the Niger Delta and offshore in the Gulf of Guinea. The availability of oil has attracted large oil companies, one of those being Shell who account for half of Nigeria's oil production.
